What We Offer Our Guests
The opportunity to enjoy our second home, which we have developed over the last 40 years for when we visit from California to see family and friends in the UK. We use Cedar Gardens a few weeks in the spring and again in the fall.
About 6 years ago we decided we wanted to share Cedar Gardens with others who sought a natural and peaceful environment in which to revitalize their spirit.
Our philosophy is that when we lower our personal stress, life is more enjoyable, and we increase our ability to partner with others to achieve our purposes.
The comments provided in the Cedar Gardens guestbook, highlights of which are available on a tab on the home page, speak for themselves.

Cedar Gardens History
Bob McQueen's father bought Llanbedr Hall Estate in a derelict condition in 1955. He transformed the estate into a hamlet of cottages and a hotel and country club which he operated until 1978 when he decided to retire to Southport and gave the property to Bob.
In the 1970s Bob and Annie took a 5-year break from their professional careers in California and ran a retreat center on the estate called Bryn Coed (wooded hill). Participants were people from all walks of life who were seeking insights into how to live a happy and healthy life and make a positive contribution to society. Bob and Annie returned to California in 1981. They kept their Llanbedr Hall Estate property until after Bob’s Dad died. When they sold Llanbedr Hall and grounds in 2003, they retained ownership of the southern wing as a second home and named the property Cedar Gardens.
Bob and Annie live in California and visit family and friends in the UK normally twice a year. They have been very fortunate in finding excellent managers to care for and upgrade Cedar Gardens. The manager for the past 23 years is Peter Jones who hasbeen a visionary and architect of the many resources and amenities we now enjoy.
Cedar Gardens has been and continues to be Bob and Annie McQueen's home in Wales. Spending time at Cedar Gardens has made an important contribution to dissipating the stress in their lives and rejuvenating their spirits. For many years Boband Annie made Cedar Gardens available as a retreat space for family and friends. About 6 years ago they decided to offer Cedar Gardens, on a weekly basis, as a retreat space for others if who seek a special place to rejuvenate their spirits. The guestbook shows how valuable visiting Cedar Gardens has been for so many guests.
